We hope you find the calculator helpful (and enlightening).
Here are some quick hints on how to get the most out of it:
This calculator compares 3 sets of products. Selecting one of the product category
buttons will change all appropriate values in the calculator and reset the tool
use hours to 10.
Comparisons are based on total fuel mixture cost, which is the cost of the
gasoline plus the oil in a gallon of fuel mix.
If you already know your total fuel mix cost, you can simply change the value
in the main screen.
However, you can also calculate this value by using the fuel mix sheet, which
opens with the bottom calculator button.
This will automatically change the total fuel cost value on the main screen although the tool use hours sheet will not change values on the main screen.
You can close the calculation sheets when you are done with them by clicking
on the x button. If you'd like to keep them open, you may move them by dragging
them by the handle on the right side.
Tool use hours are the number of hours you expect to use a tool annually and
can be changed in multiples of 10 hours by using the slider.
However, the chart may be unable to display as many hours as you need. In this
case you may multiply to get specific numbers. For example, to determine the
amount of fuel mixture for 2000 hours of blower use, select 1000 hours and double
all of the fuel consumption figures, which gives you 445 x 2 = 890 gallons for
Echo, 386 x 2 = 772 gallons for Stihl, and 258 x 2 = 516 gallons for RedMax.
The same system can be used for multiplying savings.
