The muffler support bracket may fatigue at the muffler body causing an opening in the muffler body. As a result, hot exhaust gases can be directed toward the fuel tank, which may result in damage to the fuel tank. This creates a potential fire and burn hazard. If you own one of these units, DISCONTINUE USE IMMEDIATELY and bring the unit into your dealership to have the muffler replaced and related parts inspected. A: No, new style mufflers have only recently been made available. It is likely your muffler is the old version and will need replacing. Please return the blower to an authorized RedMax dealer for free repair. Q: There is damage to the fuel tank and or engine cover as a result of the muffler failure. Are these parts covered by the Recall as well? A: Yes, the muffler and any related parts covered by the Recall.
